Quick overview
Use the Tinkering Station to improve eligible items through the system that matches your problem: recalibrate one attribute or talent, optimize a near-perfect roll, reconfigure an Exotic, or manage Expertise. Inspect the item and cost before confirming.
Detailed route
What to do, step by step
Use this order when you are in-game. It expands the overview with the checks and choices that keep the route on track.
- Select the item and decide whether the problem is its talent, attribute, roll value, or Expertise Grade.
- Use recalibration when one change can make the item fit the build.
- Use optimization only on a keeper whose remaining improvement justifies the material cost.
- Use reconfiguration for an Exotic when you accept the component cost and the new roll is worth the risk.
- Return to the Expertise screen to donate or upgrade only after protecting the items you still need.
Key details
Before you commit
- Each operation has different eligibility rules and costs; a menu option appearing does not make it the best choice.
- Tinkering labels and costs are update-sensitive, so verify the confirmation panel every time.
